Alison is a licensed clinical professional counselor who specializes in exploring identity, relationships and transitions. Her work focuses on helping clients forge new ways of relating to themselves and others. She helps her clients understand and address anxious and depressed feelings, recover from losses and addictions and manage school or work related stresses. She reveres the interplay between our formative experiences and current ways of being in the world and enjoys facilitating the innate movement towards healing and authenticity.
Alison has over 20 years experience working with adults and adolescents in a range of social service and educational settings throughout Chicago and New York City. A graduate of Loyola University Chicago, she currently works with a broad spectrum of clients at offices in Evanston and Chicago.
In addition to her psychotherapy practice, Alison serves as an adjunct faculty member for counselor education at Loyola University Chicago. She has also presented workshops on the topics of managing family dynamics, non-violent conflict resolution, social justice activism for adults and self care for care-givers and others in the helping professions.
Alison's therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. Clients are active participants in the process and are asked to identify goals and priorities for the therapy process. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. She also specializes in the integration of spirituality and psychotherapy.
